Why isn't my audio working?

Our engineering team works hard to ensure that you can successfully access Fluencia from any device, but we know that our members sometimes encounter problems with our audio. There are a number of fixes that may help you with these issues. Often reloading the page or closing and reopening your web browser will help. Otherwise, please follow the steps below.

Laptop or desktop computers:

On desktop/laptop computers we recommend using either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Both of these trusted browsers are free to download and safe to use on your devices. You can also use Safari if you have a Mac computer or Internet Explorer/Edge for PCs, though older versions of Internet Explorer tend to be problematic when using Fluencia.

  • If you are having troubles with one of these browsers, and closing and restarting your browser does not help, please contact us for further assistance.

iPad/iPhone: If you have no audio in Fluencia on any browser, but you have audio on other websites and apps, then your device's "mute" setting might be preventing the audio from playing.

  • First, check to make sure that the switch on the side of your iPhone/iPad is not set to silent/vibrate.
  • If you are using an iPad that doesn't have a physical switch on the side, then you can check the Control Center for a digital mute button.
    • To open the Control Center, swipe your finger up from the bottom edge of the screen to bring up a panel with various icons.
      • If the bell icon is marked in blue, please tap it to turn it back to gray, which will unmute your iPad.
  • If you are using the Safari browser, you might consider trying the Google Chrome browser.  It's free to download and very safe to use on your device.  You can find it here: Google Chrome in the App Store

Android smartphones/tablets:

  • First, check that your device is not set to silent or vibrate mode.
  • You might also need to check in the Settings section of your device to see if the "media volume" control is down too low right now.
  • If you're using the default Android browser, consider switching to Chrome or Firefox.
